The English tutoring program at Fuji Elementary School achieved excellent results last fall! With some tutors participating in the Top5 program and others exploring different paths, we are eagerly calling passionate instructors to join our teams this spring!
Your participation plays a vital role in ensuring the continued success of this program. If you want to gain teaching experience and inspire young minds, please join the English tutoring adventure! Sign up by Saturday, 1/27, and let’s write another exciting chapter together!
Each team will have 2-3 tutors guiding a group of five to six 5th or 6th-grade students.
To participate, please sign up by Saturday, 1/27.
The program will run for a total of 17 sessions in 9 weeks. English conversation classes will be held twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, each lasting approximately 25-30 minutes. These sessions will be conducted over Skype.
Each team will be responsible for creating teaching materials for every lesson.
All tutoring sessions are required to be recorded on Skype. Following each session, please create a short 1-2 minute video that captures the session highlights, and then save it in a designated Google Drive folder for review.
At the end of the program, each team is required to prepare a 3-minute video presentation. This presentation should showcase the student’s learning progress and highlight key teaching moments throughout the program.
Your tutoring team can collaborate to decide how responsibilities are shared. This includes preparing materials, leading lessons, creating videos, and more.
FASCA hours will be granted based on FASCA English Tutoring guidelines. Please keep in mind that you must complete the entire Tutoring program to receive the FASCA service hours.
