On September 16, 2023, FASCA hosted a lively event at Chamblee Library to present the traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival. Many kids and families from the community joined us.
Volunteer members started by explaining what the festival is about. Then, Shadow Puppet Show was put on to tell the stories about the festival. Children got to hear about the tale of the hero Houyi, how Chang’e ended up on the moon, the determined attitude of Wu Gang, and the special jade rabbit that lives on the moon. After the stories, the children and families enjoyed making cute paper rabbits and playdough mooncakes.
Everyone had a great time. It was great to share our culture with the community.
