The Culture Center of TECO in Atlanta will host a Mid-Autumn Cultural Expo for teachers and students of TCML (Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning) on Sunday, 9/17. The event aims to offer TCML students an immersive experience of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The expo will feature activities including baking egg yolk mooncakes, learning about Mid-Autumn Festival traditions, and enjoying the BBQ fun.
We are looking for FASCA members to volunteer to assist in setting up and cleaning up the venue, making the BBQ (Taiwan sausage, corn on the cob), and presenting the shadow puppetry shows for Mid-Autumn Festival Legends.
To participate in the shadow puppetry shows, training and rehearsal are required. We will conduct a shadow puppetry practice session on 9/10 from 4:30 to 5:30 pm after the members’ meeting and may hold another online rehearsal on Friday, 9/15, from 8 to 9 pm. Untrained volunteers might not be accepted or might be assigned to other tasks with shorter shifts.
You will receive FASCA service hours based on your involvement. To participate, please submit the Google form below by Wednesday, 9/6.
Please note that the event is exclusively open to TCML teachers and students. Only FASCA members who volunteer for the tasks are eligible to participate. Thank you for your understanding.
